Sifiso Sikhakhane has been researching and working with the dancers' bodies to try and find the unusual. Stephen Holder spent the past 2 months creating some very interesting compositions. And as for our dear American, Matthew Jackson...his monologues have made the piece come alive!
Working for twelve hours a week, the performers are flying in rehearsals!
Without a doubt, "The Language We Cry In" is just one of those raw gems! You can't miss it!

The Language We Cry In
Ubom!Eastern Cape Drama Company, Rhodes University Drama Department & Kingswood College Music School.
A collaboration between Amaphiko Township Dance Project choreographed by Sifiso Sikhakhane and the Kingswood College Concert Band conducted by Stephen Holder. Fresh, slick and visually thrilling. A family’s memory is pieced together through a song; a song with legendary powers to connect those who sang it with their roots. A perfect blend of live music and contemporary dance tells the moving and thought-provoking story of ‘The Language We Cry In’.
